Dental Trauma UK is a charity set up in 2014 to promote best practice in the management of injured, damaged or knocked out teeth following a traumatic dental incident. This is a particularly good source of excellent and up-to-date advice. It is a subscription service. As a member you will get FREE access to the Dental Trauma Guide https://dentaltraumaguide.org and additionally you also have access to:
- Evening lectures to replace the annual conference free of charge
- Free CPD material – ( hours of eCPD )
- Free access to ‘how-to-do’ videos
- Free patient information leaflets to use in your clinic
Colleagues may also wish to look at the very detailed (free access) recommendations from the 2020 International Association of Dental Traumatology (IADT) Guidelines for the Evaluation and Management of Traumatic Dental Injuries:
https://www.iadt-dentaltrauma.org/for-professionals.html
Their website offers advice on the following topics following trauma injuries to teeth and jaws:
- General Introduction
- Fractures and Luxations
- Avulsion of Permanent Teeth
- Injuries in the Primary Dentition
The 2020 Guidelines are now available in multiple languages (see IADT website)
