Role of the Controlled Drugs Accountable Officer

Regional Lead Controlled Drugs Accountable Officers (CDAOs) are responsible for all aspects of Controlled Drugs management. The roles and responsibilities of CDAO’s are governed by the

Controlled Drugs (Supervision of Management and Use) Regulations 2013.

Note: You will require a private controlled drugs prescriber code in order to obtain a stock of CDs using form FP10CDF, or to prescribe CDs using pink FP10PCD prescription forms.  These may be obtained by contacting  england.southwestcontrolleddrugs@nhs.net.
